The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini
Book Number:RC 57457
3 sound cassettes
An Afghan in California recalls a fateful 1975 day in Kabul that seared his
soul at age twelve--the day he won a kite tournament and abandoned a younger
companion to rape. That cowardice keeps haunting him during exile in America
until the opportunity for atonement arises--back in Taliban-controlled
Afghanistan. Violence and some strong language. 2003.
I must credit my friend Kathy in the recommendation of this book. After she
did, I heard and read many things about this author and his story. I am so
glad I read this book. It was very moving and I am better for having read
it. I give it a 5 out of 5.
thoughtful reading,
Carla/TexasRed
